Recently, the official images of the new Peugeot 308 family were officially released. The new car is the first model to feature Peugeot's all-new logo. It is offered in hatchback and estate versions, with four powertrain options: diesel, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and pure electric. It is planned to open pre-orders in the European market first in the autumn of this year (2025).

In terms of exterior, the front face of the new Peugeot 308 has changed the most. It applies Peugeot's latest LOGO for the first time. The body-colored divergent grille extends upward and merges with the vertically arranged LED light sources. The lion-claw headlights extend this element to both sides. The trapezoidal air intake in the front bumper lowers the visual center of gravity, and the vents on both sides optimize wind resistance. The entire front face is very dynamic.

The side of the new car adopts a segmented waistline and comes standard with 17-inch wheels, while higher trims offer an 18-inch wheel option. The rear of the estate version is further extended, adding elegance while also increasing trunk storage space. The regular trunk volume is 598L and can be expanded to a maximum of 1487L. The lion-claw taillights at the rear echo the front headlights.

In terms of interior, the new car features the family-style i-Cockpit cabin. The 10-inch central control screen has a built-in i-Connect entertainment system and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. Below the screen are five i-Toggles touch buttons. It also offers 8-color ambient lighting, a 10-speaker Focal audio system, and front seat heating, ventilation, and massage functions.

In terms of power, the pure electric version of the new car is equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 115kW, a battery pack capacity of 58.4kWh, and a range of 450km (WLTP). The plug-in hybrid version of the new car is equipped with a 1.6T engine. The engine's maximum power is 92kW, the drive motor's power is 110kW, the system's combined power is 143kW, the battery pack capacity is 17.2kWh, and the pure electric range is 85km (WLTP). The hybrid version of the new car has a system combined power of 107kW and is matched with an e-DCS6 (6-speed dual-clutch transmission). A diesel version is also offered in the European market.
Dada Review: Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile's Peugeot 308 went on sale in China in 2011. In 2013, it received a facelift and was equipped with a 1.6L CVVT engine. In 2016 and 2019, it underwent two more facelifts, further improving its exterior, configuration, and fuel economy. From the product itself, the Peugeot 308 indeed had some unreasonable designs, such as a counterclockwise-rotating tachometer, an unreasonably positioned air filter element, and poor smoothness of the 6AT transmission, which affected its sales and reputation in China. Ultimately, due to sluggish sales, production was discontinued in August 2020. Some reports say that Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile intends to put the all-new Peugeot 308 into production in China, but judging from the current market performance of French cars, re-entering the Chinese market will not bring much improvement.
