On September 29, Beijing Hyundai's IONIQ brand's first model, the IONIQ V, was officially launched, with 5 versions introduced. The vehicle was developed under the leadership of Hyundai's China Design Center, and the company stated that it plans to export it overseas in the future.

The IONIQ V is positioned as a B+ segment all-electric coupe, with length, width, and height of 4,900 mm, 1,890 mm, and 1,470 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. It offers 8 body colors and is equipped with frameless doors, a full-width taillight, and semi-flush door handles.

In terms of powertrain, the entire lineup adopts a front-mounted single-motor front-wheel-drive layout, with maximum power in two tiers, 140 kW and 168 kW, and peak torque of 250 N·m for both, corresponding respectively to CLTC range of 540 km and 650 km, with 0-100 km/h acceleration times of 7.9 seconds and 7.7 seconds respectively. The battery uses CATL's lithium iron phosphate solution, with capacities of 53.48 and 66.85 kWh respectively, supports fast charging, and takes about 20 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. The chassis uses MacPherson independent suspension at the front and a torsion beam non-independent suspension at the rear, and is equipped with an anti-motion-sickness mode.

In terms of interior, the new car adopts a wraparound cockpit layout and offers three interior color schemes. The cabin's usable space ratio is 86%, with front and rear legroom of 1,078 mm and 1,019 mm respectively. The front seats support full flat folding and connect with the rear row to form a rest space. The roof is equipped with a 1.2-square-meter panoramic glass roof, the trunk capacity is 465 liters, and the vehicle provides 26 storage spaces throughout.

The cockpit is equipped with a 27-inch 4K integrated screen, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, 24 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage, and integrates the Doubao and ERNIE Bot dual AI large models, supporting four-zone voice interaction. The high-end intelligent driving version is equipped with an L2+ assisted driving system jointly developed with Momenta, with hardware including 1 millimeter-wave radar, 7 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars, supporting highway navigation, urban memory navigation, and all-scenario parking assistance.

Xiao Tang's view:
What is noteworthy about the IONIQ V is not only the specification sheet, but also that its product definition, design, and supply chain lean toward Chinese teams and local suppliers. The entire lineup comes standard with the 8295P chip and a 27-inch screen, and the version with a limited-time benefit price of 119,900 yuan can already get Momenta's high-level assisted driving. This combination ranks in the first tier among joint-venture cars at the same price. The trade-offs are equally clear: the front-wheel-drive plus rear torsion beam setup, along with the impact of the fastback styling on rear headroom, both need to be confirmed with the actual car.
